A poem about the traditional Hikuri ceremony (with the peyote cactus) in the Mexican Wirikuta desert. I wrote this after a night shamanic ceremony in the Wirikuta desert. It was beautiful there!
Under the full moon
Before the tribe of fire
Free to be yourself,
You accept yourself
You, in search of yourself,
Wandering in the darkness
Before the flame of fire
You will remember yourself again
And taking a breath
Of the desert night’s air,
You look to the east
Before the flame of fire
And the sunrise will come again
Within and outside you
It will take away all burdens
The all-consuming spirit of fire.
